About us

We are a small friendly Angling club catering for the pleasure, fly and match angler and with the Barbel in our waters now close to that magical 12lb mark, I’m sure the specimen angler can be catered for.

With the river Nidd being the largest of our fisheries it boasts every type of angling and the river changes in character from fast shallow runs to narrow deeper glides or a still steady paced flow, there will be somewhere to satisfy everyone’s fishing requirements.

The aim of the club is to promote fishing to all in and around the Knaresborough area, whether you are old, young, male or female, we welcome you. Knaresborough has had an angling club since the 1930s and it’s a tradition we aim to continue. We as a club are always on the lookout for new waters for our members to fish and improving our existing fisheries and habitat. With the club having an open membership our aim is to flourish and grow.
