There are various locks along the length of the canal which runs for approx 11 miles, this is large enough to take commercial barges, average width being around 30 metres, with an average depth being around 12 feet but can shallow to around 6 feet in places.
Fish include Roach, Bream and skimmers, Perch and large Gudgeon, other species that can be caught include trout, Eels, Chub, Rudd and Tench
